Home assignments: For each exercise and have to be submitted until the 2nd date of each exercise. Scientific presentation: Oral presentation of results and discussion of one exercise, max 20 min and discussion. | Important note! The elective courses are bundled into 7 modules. Please note, that you can only select each module once. However, you can take a second course from a module as "voluntary additional credits" in a following semester. | Anzeige von Anmeldebeginn und -ende systembedingt. Distribution, degradation and effects of chemicals in the environment
Nachhaltigkeitsorientiert

After their input into the environment, chemical substances are subject to distribution and are either not degraded at all, partially degraded or completely degraded. If they are not completely degraded, they can have effects on humans and organisms in the environment. Different standard methods for the investigation of environmentally relevant processes along the life cycle of chemical substances will be deepened in practical exercises. In addition, data on the degradation behaviour of substances will be collected from databases in computer exercises or predicted using computer models (QSAR) and compared with experimentally collected data.

Students will be able to identify underlying concepts of the fate and transformation of organic substances in the environment and their relation to sustainable chemistry.

The students learn important standard methods for the description of environmentally relevant material properties. This enables them to better assess the origin of environmental parameters and their suitability for the evaluation of substances.

The students are able to independently evaluate data collected by themselves and present the results appropriately in the form of scientific reports and lectures.

Important note! The elective courses are bundled into 7 modules. Please note, that you can only select each module once. However, you can take a second course from a module as "voluntary additional credits" in a following semester.

Based on current planning, this course will be offered regularly in the winter semester in this elective.
