Designing Responsible AI: Developing Ethical Frameworks Across Disciplines
keine

Recent developments in artificial intelligence have revealed a pace of advancement that regulatory and ethical frameworks have struggled to match, raising important considerations for its responsible design, development, and application. Addressing these challenges requires careful attention to multiple perspectives, including technical, business, legal, and societal dimensions, which can be difficult to reconcile in practice due to the complexity of integrating diverse viewpoints in collaborative decision-making.

To engage with these complexities in a practical and applied manner, this seminar brings together students from diverse disciplines to collaboratively develop frameworks for responsible AI, integrating multiple perspectives in the design process. Students will work in teams to design frameworks for responsible AI and present their proposals in structured debates. Each group will critically evaluate the feasibility, strengths, and limitations of other groups’ frameworks, fostering rigorous discussion and reflection. The seminar emphasizes analytical thinking, ethical reasoning, and effective communication.

By engaging with multiple perspectives and considering both practical and societal implications, students will develop the skills necessary to create AI solutions that are balanced, inclusive, and socially responsible. This approach encourages students to consider how technological, ethical, legal, and social dimensions intersect in real-world contexts, equipping them to address complex issues in professional and academic settings.
