The lecture offers a systematic introduction to the system of government of the Federal Republic of Germany in a European context. With the help of relevant concepts and theories of comparative politics, the structure and functioning of political institutions as well as the process of political decision-making are analysed. In addition, we deal with the political system of the EU and discuss the question of the extent to which one can still speak of "German domestic politics" in view of the progressing European integration.

Da die Videos aus einem vergangen Semester stammen, bitte ich Sie nach Möglichkeit, an der englischsprachigen Präsenzveranstaltung teilzunehmen. The course aims to impart empirical-analytical basic knowledge of the governmental system of the Federal Republic of Germany and the political system of the EU. Above all, the participants should be enabled to systematically grasp and explain the specifics of governance in the European multi-level system with the analytical tools of political science.
