The module provides an introduction to experimental research methods (e.g., laboratory experiments, field experiments). Topics include the role of the experimental method for research in economics and political science, methodological foundations, the design of experiments, and their statistical analysis.

Students learn why and how to use experiments in empirical research in economics and politics. They learn to design experiments based on underlying research questions. They also learn to analyse data generated in experiments using the appropriate statistical techniques.
