ProBioTIC - Promoting Biodiversity through Transdisciplinary Learning Interventions in the Carpathians
Biodiversity experts from the Carpathian countries are insufficiently trained on how to address biodiversity with a broader inter- and transdisciplinary perspective.
Therefore, there is a lack of integrated approaches to promote biodiversity and sustainability. Key stakeholders aren't in the same room. Scientists lack the language and skills to engage the public.
There is also a lack of a shared understanding of the concept and methodology of ESD, hence, there are hardly any educational approaches to promote biodiversity at various levels in the region.
Together with stakeholders in the Carpathian region, students will develop learning interventions tailored to specific projects.
What these learning interventions can be will be part of the transdisciplinary process - You will work with our project partners from the Carpathians, with a specific focus on Romania, e.g., an outdoor education organisation, the Cultural Center Cugir, the 2celsius association, or wildlife ecologists from Romania in order to develop your project that answers local needs.
To do field work, we plan an excursion to Cugir in Romania for a group of approx. 4-6 students (depending on the funding budget), to take place presumably from ~10 - 14 May.
