The purpose of comparative law is to further insights into the law via the means of comparison. The comparison can refer to entire legal systems or to individual regulatory contents.
The lecture explains the comparative law method and discusses its added value as well as its challenges.
Note: Participation in this class requires signing up for a group presentation and a response paper. Please register for the Moodle course for details.
The aim of the course is to familiarize the participants with the basics of comparative law, especially in the field of private law.
