The seminar provides insights into the challenges and solutions of an energy supply based on consistency (renewables), efficiency and sufficiency, with a focus on the demands on space (including the subsurface and the North and Baltic Seas). The background to this is that future decentralised energy generation will require large amounts of land for which there are various conflicting usage requirements. What requirements arise for the planning system, the law of spatial planning, how can those affected be involved in decisions and acceptance be promoted, what answers do politics, law, economics, natural and spatial science provide? The seminar will be combined with excursions, e.g. to the authorised repository for low- and medium-level radioactive waste in the Konrad mine, to the illegal Asse repository, to a wind farm, etc.

Das Seminar gibt Einblicke in die Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze einer auf Konsistenz (Erneuerbare), Effizienz und Suffizienz basierenden Energieversorgung, mit dem Schwerpunkt auf die Ansprüche an den Raum (einschließlich des Untergrunds und von Nord- und Ostsee). Hintergrund ist, dass die künftige dezentrale Energieerzeugung in großem Ausmaß Flächen benötigt, für die es diverse konfligierende Nutzungsansprüche gibt. Welche Anforderungen ergeben sich für das Planungssytem, das Recht der Raumplanung, wie können Betroffene in Entscheidungen eingebunden und die Akzeptanz gefördert werden, welche Antworten geben Politik, Recht, Ökonomie, Natur- und Raumwissenschaft? Mit dem Seminar sollen Exkursionen verbunden werden, zB zum genehmigten Endlager für schwach- und mittelradioaktive Abfälle im Schacht Konrad, zum illegalen Endlager Asse, zu einem Windpark, etc.
