Summer School: Ready to Teach! (English)
none

In this summer school, you will learn how to design teaching that is sensitive to writing, how to guide students in scientific thinking and writing in a targeted manner, and how to evaluate reflections fairly and transparently. You will reflect on your role as a teacher and as a writer. You will address the challenges of teaching in general, as well as interdisciplinary teaching, and acquire fundamental higher education teaching skills. In addition, you will learn how AI can be integrated into teaching in a meaningful and responsible way and how you can sensitize students to the principles of good scientific practice.

Methods:
We use a variety of teaching methods. These include personal exchange, input phases, and reflective practice.

Course load:
As part of the summer school (both in preparation and follow-up work as well as during attendance), you will create various documents that can form the basis of a teaching portfolio, as is often required in appointment procedures. Participation in the summer school is certified by a corresponding certificate.

In the summer school you will:
• acquire higher education teaching skills for conducting courses
• address the requirements of interdisciplinary teaching
• reflect on your role as a teacher
• acquire writing teaching skills for writing-sensitive teaching. This includes dealing with reading
• reflect on yourself as a writer and reader

Attending the Summer School will ideally qualify you for a teaching position in the transformation module of the Leuphana Semester in the winter semester 2026/27. The exercises in this module introduce students to key concepts such as transformation, justice, responsibility, and values, and combine these with academic reading and writing, critical thinking, and reflection. As part of this teaching position, you can deepen your knowledge of university teaching methods and at the same time add teaching experience to your resume. A maximum of 9 teaching positions are available.
