Content
This module builds on the knowledge gained in the module "Microeconomic Theory I" and covers further topics in microeconomic analysis like:
- production and cost theory
- competitive markets
- welfare theory and general equilibrium
- monopoly
- elasticities
- market failure: externalities, asymmetric information and public goods
Students understand how economic agents (e.g., households, firms, suppliers and demanders of input factors, etc.) behave and how the interaction between these units emerge in markets. Moreover, students understand the microeconomic effects of the market interaction (of different market forms) as well as the conditions under which the market interaction does not function properly.
