Case Study Products Liability: SuperCar
none

This module is built around a fictional case study set in the automobile industry. The focus will be on key aspects of liability law, business strategy, and corporate communication.

You assume the role of a Junior Consultant to Robert Law, Head of Legal at SuperCar—a leading German manufacturer of sustainable, high-performance vehicles. You will be immersed in the realities of legal and business practice from the very first day. Unlike traditional classes, this seminar positions you as an emerging professional, not a passive student. Your input will carry weight, your analyses and your decisions will be considered in real business contexts. Robert Law sets the tone clearly: “I will not give you textbooks to read. Instead, I will ask you real-life questions, and you will give me your answers.” This pragmatic, challenge-driven approach appealed to you as it ensures that you learn by doing - developing judgment, confidence, and problem-solving skills that extend beyond theory. By working with Robert Law, you will gain direct exposure to strategic decision-making, develop a sharp understanding of how law operates within a cutting-edge industry, and be treated as a young professional whose contributions matter.

Upon successful completion of the seminar, you will be able to identify, evaluate, and communicate business-related legal issues, while considering both the business and consumer perspectives.

Characteristic features of the seminar:
- regular workload: presentations and (short) papers
- there is no script for SuCar-challenges
- working groups welcome and recommended
- prep time for (guided) group meetings between plenary sessions

Students who love to delve into real-life legal challenges, and wish to practise their written and spoken legal English will benefit greatly.

If unsure whether this class is for you, feel free to get in touch before the start or come to class one to look and sniff.
