Content
Global sustainability governance takes place in inter-, trans- and national political, socio-cultural and economic contexts and dynamics. In order to better understand opportunities and challenges of sustainable development it is essential to identify and analyze key contextual conditions. In this perspective the seminar aims at developing an embedded understanding of global sustainability governance based on theoretical literature and empirical information in the first part of the semester followed by comparative country studies in order to analyze the sustainability performance of selected states.
The seminar aims at strengthening conceptual thinking and empirical research, critical analytical and discursive skills concerning global sustainability politics and sustainable statehood.
