Content and concept

Freedom in European Modernity (FiEM) examines the concept of freedom in relation to a series of different social, cultural, scientific, political, and economic elements in Europe in the last 400 years. The aim of the module is to provide a starting point for key themes and questions which may come to guide your own studies in the Studium Individuale programme. In each session is a pairing of ‘Freedom and…’ giving us a way to examine a wide range of changes in different areas of society and for different people.
