Content
The Lernwerkstatt is a structured learning environment that provides open access to materials, models, and scientific phenomena. It is intended to support learners (e.g., teachers, students, pupils) in formulating and pursuing their own scientific questions within an inquiry-based framework.
Students will work in small interdisciplinary groups to design a Lernwerkstatt on a selected scientific topic. The designed environment will be implemented with a school class or another invited group during a half-day session.
Students will be able to:
- explain key principles of the Lernwerkstatt approach and inquiry-based science learning;
- design learning environments that enable open scientific inquiry while maintaining conceptual focus;
- critically analyse how task design, materials, and facilitation influence inclusion and participation;
- develop scientifically meaningful questions aligned with school curricula;
- plan and implement a Lernwerkstatt session for school classes or similar groups.
