Portal policy

Please note that messages can only be sent via our newsletter if they fulfil our portal policy. By submitting your message, you confirm that it unequivocally fulfils all the requirements set out in our portal policy.

Message length, formatting and responsibility

• Messages may be a maximum of 500 characters long.
• The use of text formatting (e.g. bold, italics, indentation) and in-text links is not possible.
• Emojis may not be used.
• Words or sentences may not be written in capital letters throughout unless they are abbreviations, brand names or proper names.
• A responsible person with first and last name and an email address for queries must be provided for each message.
• If the message is to be sent for a project as part of a coursework, assessment or final thesis, the supervising lecturer must be named.

University-related messages only

Only messages with a clear reference to Leuphana University Lüneburg will be sent. We consider this to be the case if the offer advertised in the message is organised or significantly co-organised by one of these bodies:

• Leuphana University Lüneburg or one of its institutions
• Student initiatives officially registered at Leuphana
• General Student Committee (AStA) or one of its departments
• Student Parliament (StuPa)
• Studierendenwerk OstNiedersachsen or one of its facilities
• Leuphana students working on projects as part of a coursework, assessment or final thesis

General applicability

The offer mentioned in the message must be open to all students of Leuphana University Lüneburg. Accordingly, the following offers cannot be advertised:

• Offers that are only aimed at students of certain programmes or fields of study
• Offers that are only aimed at students who belong to certain genders, sexual orientations, associations, groups, political parties or religions/beliefs

No repeated advertisements

• Each submitter and organisation/institution may only submit one message per week. If several offers are to be advertised in one week, these must be listed together in one message.
• An offer that has been advertised once cannot be advertised again. This also applies if only a 'save-the-date' message had initially been sent out.
• Regular dates with the same content (e.g. regulars' tables, group meetings) are to be advertised once in a message at the beginning of the lecture period and/or the lecture-free period.
• Offers that have already been advertised via other newsletters (e.g. AStA newsletter, study programme newsletter) cannot be advertised additionally via our newsletter.
• Offers that were advertised via our newsletter may not additionally be submitted for other newsletters (e.g. AStA newsletter, study programme newsletter).

No job offers

• Job advertisements and offers for paid work cannot be advertised.
• There is an exception for the job advertisements for the Start Week tutors, the Selection Process and the College Open Day.
• Offers of unpaid voluntary work are permitted. They must be clearly labelled as such.

No commercial advertising

• Advertising for specific companies is not permitted.
• The prospect of receiving vouchers from specific companies as a prize/reward for participating in offers, surveys etc. must not be offered.
• Leuphana University Lüneburg and its institutions are exempt from this, provided it is a cooperation with a specific company communicated through public channels (e.g. press releases, university website) of Leuphana and approved by the responsible authorities.

Online forms

Special conditions apply to online forms. These conditions apply to every online form to which reference is made in a message. They must be fulfilled in addition to the other conditions of the portal policy. It is irrelevant whether the form is, for example, a survey for a research paper or a registration form for an offer.

In any case, the online form must be clearly related to Leuphana University Lüneburg as defined in the portal policy point 'University-related messages only'.

The online form itself must fulfil the following criteria:

• The reference to Leuphana University Lüneburg, including the full name of the university and the organisational unit (e.g. institute), must be clearly visible. In the case of student initiatives, the name of the student initiative must be visible instead of the organisational unit.
• A responsible person with first and last name and an email address for queries must be provided.
• For projects as part of a coursework, assessment or final thesis, the supervising lecturer must be named by first and last name.
• A GDPR-compliant privacy policy must be displayed or linked before data entry begins. A reference to the privacy policy of the provider of the online form service is not sufficient.

Editorial discretion, timely submission

The myStudy team checks every submitted message. We reserve the right to shorten and rephrase texts.

Please submit your message in good time (for event dates and deadlines at least three working days before the deadline). If you submit your message at shorter notice, we cannot guarantee that it will be sent on time, especially if we have any queries.
